The all-new Volkswagen Arteon, unveiled at the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, is the newest flagship Volkswagen to emerge in the lineup. Replacing the Volkswagen CC in the lineup, it’s clear to see that the German automakers wanted the Arteon to stand on its own amidst the other sedans in their stable.
Featuring a sleek fastback design along with Volkswagen’s renowned 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, the Arteon promises to offer style, substance and performance. Built on Volkswagen’s all-new MQB platform, the Arteon’s wheelbase is 5” longer than the outgoing CC, and features shorter overhangs, and is also longer and wider. These design features create a silhouette that’s both powerful and muscular.
Nestled beneath the newly designed hood, the all-new Arteon sports a 2.0L TSI engine that produces 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with an 8-speed automatic control and drives all four wheels with 4MOTION. No other engine options or transmission choices have been announced.
Inside the all-new Arteon, Volkswagen has equipped the stylish fastback with heated and ventilated front seats, massaging driver’s seat, Nappa leather surfaces, and heated rear seats. There’s also an 8” infotainment screen, as well as Volkswagen App-Connect along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.
The all-new Volkswagen Arteon will arrive later this year and pricing will be announced soon.
